Get ready to add Ganymede (the most beautiful of all mortals in ancient Greek mythology) to your list of friends! THE FRIENDS OF GANYMEDE PRIVATE SAILING TOUR will start out in the most famous classical city in the world, Athens! Here will begin the unique insights on Greek mythology from a gay perspective, one that was certainly not part of our learning of the myths in school! Zeus and Ganymede, Socrates and Alcibiades, Alexander the Great and Hephaestion. Learn about ancient Greece’s gay gods and heroes with well know Professor and guide Constantinos Sfikas of the National Greek guiding school and VIP guide to a list of Hollywood heavyweights such as Alexander Payne, Oliver Stone, and John Malkovich, to name just a few.
We then will be able to ponder these myths (and other things!) while we are sailing in our private sail/motor boat and while relaxing and soaking up the sun on the beaches and towns of some of the most beautiful Greek islands including the iconic Greek island of Mykonos!
Program Outline
Day 1
Arrive in Athens. Orientation and welcome dinner.
Overnight Athens
Day 2
Morning: guided tour of Athens. Acropolis, Archaeological museum. Lunch in Plaka.
Afternoon free to explore Plaka , Monastiraki, bars.
Overnight Athens
Day 3
Start sailing the Blue Aegean on our private boat!
Port of Lavrion to Syros
Day 4
Syros -Mykonos
Day 5
Mykonos. Super Paradise beach excursion.
Day 6
Mykonos- Rinia for swimming. Then on to Naxos
Day 7
Naxos-Paros
DAY 8
Paros-Kythnos
Day 9
Return to Port of Lavrion. Final night in Athens!
Day 10
Return Home or extended tours.
